Meet our Preschool Team
The Preschool team is committed to the physical, emotional, and spiritual growth of every child in our care. We meet and exceed every criterion for care to provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for children and families.
Lead Pastor
Dr. Ed Rose
Ed has served as lead pastor of Central since March of 2000. He received a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Divinity in Christian Education.
CCA Director of Operations
Evette Orcutt, MDiv
Evette joined the Central staff in 2001. She has served as Children’s Minister, Church Administrator and Weekday Preschool Director. She is a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, with a Master of Divinity in Christian Education, and a graduate of Appalachian State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Communications.

Emily Bell, MA
Emily began working at Central in 2013. She has maintained various roles in the preschool and has served as assistant director and director for the last six years. She is a 2017 graduate of Liberty University, with a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling, and a 2013 graduate of Appalachian State University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.

Health and Safety Coordinator
Lawanda Stevenson
Lawanda is originally from Aurora, NC. She has over 20 years of Early Childhood experience. Her career in Early Childhood started in 1998 as an assistant teacher at Aurora Child Care Center. She worked as an Assistant teacher for one year and then was promoted to Assistant Director. In 2001 she opened her own in-home childcare center and worked in the home for seven years, then branched out into a center in 2009. She was the owner/director until December of 2018.
She is a mother of 4 children, 2 foster children, and 8 grandchildren. She and her husband work with the youth in their church. She has a heart for God, His people, and His little children. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family, shop, and read.

Corinne Germain
Corinne has served in the preschool Sunday Worship Care ministry at Central since 2016. She taught ESL part-time online for preschool and elementary students alongside her management role in the biopharmaceutical industry. She started working full-time as a substitute for Johnson County Public Schools. She graduated with a BS in Business from FIT, NYC and has earned various certifications in bio-science, early childhood education, ESL, and TESOL. Corrine's husband serves as the director of the Central Academy of Arts. They have 2 sons and a beagle named Rexx.

Marcy Batten
Marcy has been an early childcare education teacher since 2020. Her greatest joy is pointing children to Jesus by passionately teaching them to love Him, His word, and those around them, so they can personally know Christ and make Him known.
She lives in Zebulon with her husband, David, and their cat, P-bub. Marcy enjoys reading, the beach, and cozy coffee shops. They just moved and are looking for a church home.

Mary-Lindsey
Bolick
Mary-Lindsey started with CCA preschool in the summer of 2023. She graduated from the College at Southeastern in 2021 with a Bachelors degree in global studies. She has also studied Early Childhood Education. She has taught in preschools for 9 years.
She is originally from Blowing Rock and enjoys drinking coffee, cooking, and traveling.

Skylar Carroll
Skylar is a senior in Acellus Online Academy. After graduating from High School, she plans on going to Edgecombe Community College and majoring in Respiratory Therapy. She loves to dance, spend time outside, and be with her family.

Trudy Catchings
Trudy is a retired elementary teacher with over 30 years of experience. She has a B.A. in Elementary Education from Almeda University. After retiring in November 2016, she began seeking God’s direction in what He would have her to do. She knew it was God that directed her to Central Baptist Preschool. She loves teaching children, especially teaching them God’s principles and Bible verses. She hopes they will hide these verses in their hearts and apply them to their lives. She is excited to work with parents in teaching their children. She feels it is an honor and privilege that you have entrusted her with your most prized possession—your child.

Rebekah Davis
Rebekah is a junior at Southern Nash High School and an active member of the Marching Firebirds Band. She plays the french horn and mellophone for the band and plays bass guitar and sings in the worship ministry here at Central. She is planning on getting a music degree in college.

Karen Ferguson
Karen has been a member of Central since 2019 and joined the CCA Preschool staff for the 23-24 school year. She taught preschool at her former church for more than 20 years and has been involved in the children's ministry here at Central since coming here. She has recently retired from corporate work and is excited about teaching children full-time here.
She is married to Mike and mom to Mickey, a pharmacist in Winston-Salem. She has a dog named Cracker and loves to read, classic movies, spend time with family, and travel to the beach.

Nancy Frazier
Nancy is a retired kindergarten teacher from Raleigh. She earned her degree in Early Childhood Education (K-6) at Meredith in 1986 and completed her Masters in Special Education from North Carolina State University in 1994. She attends Christ Baptist Church in Raleigh with her husband, Fred. They have one son, Joshua, who is in college at the University of Pennsylvania. Nancy loves to travel to the beach and mountains and to snow ski!

Abigail Fuentes
Abigail feels blessed to be part of the staff at Central Baptist Preschool. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Child Life from East Carolina University. She and her husband have two beautiful girls, Melody and Alina. Her passion for working with children began when she took a child development class in high school. She has had various internships, practicums, and volunteer opportunities in child care, early intervention, and in hospital settings where she gained valuable experience. She was raised in a Christian home and, at the age of thirteen, received Jesus Christ as her Savior. She leads worship at her church and the children will hear her singing throughout the day! She loves serving the Lord and enjoys working with children. At Central Preschool she can do both!
SUBSTITUTE
Debbie Fulghum
Debbie holds a Bachelor of Science from East Carolina University. She recently retired after 30 years in Kindergarten and first-grade classrooms. She started subbing at CCA in 2022.
She is a member of Central Baptist Church and sings in the choir for special programs. She has an adult son named Brooks and a dog named Remy. She enjoys gardening and working in her flowerbeds. She likes to do Zumba and go for walks.

Beth Hales
Beth started at CCA in September of 2022. She helps in whichever class she is needed in. She helped her daughter with an in-home daycare before starting here.
She has 2 daughters, 5 grandkids, and 3 great-grandkids! She loves spending time at the beach making memories with her family. She has a Havanese dog named Buster.

LEAD TEACHER FOR INFANTS (CATERPILLARS)
Laurel Heffner
Laurel has been with Central Preschool since it opened. She holds an Associate in Applied Science in Secretarial Science from The University of Akron and obtained North Carolina Early Childhood credentials.
Working with children has always been rewarding to her even as a teenager working with immigrant children and being a nanny during college. For the past sixteen years she has served in preschool and children’s ministry in various capacities such as Bible Study leader, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Preschool Director, and Vacation Bible School teacher. She also homeschooled for ten years. She and her husband Greg have three children - two sons and a daughter. They attend worship and serve at The Passage Church in Wendell. Her life verse is Colossians 4:2. “Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.”
ASSISTANT TEACHER FOR PRE-K (TIGERS)
Maria Hernandez
Maria and her husband left their home state of California to be near their two grandsons, both of whom attended Central Preschool. She feels the Lord called her to work with children in various capacities. She loves the little ones and has a passion to see them learn and grow, especially in their knowledge of the Lord. For more than a decade, she has either assisted or taught in classrooms from two-year-olds to second grade, and she has been active in the children’s ministry at her church. She strongly believes that the Lord has equipped her to guide children in His paths and to foster their love of learning, both in God’s Word and academics.
One of Maria's favorite passages of Scripture is, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).

Lauren Jackson
Lauren joined Central preschool in April of 2022. She has over 10 years of experience teaching preschool children. Lauren is married to Dale and they have 3 grown children. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling together.

Paula Klepchick
Paula has been attending Central Baptist Church since 2002. She joined the CCA Preschool team in July 2018. Paula and her husband, Jason, have 4 grown children. She loves working with children and watching them learn and grow into the unique individuals God created them to be.
ASSISTANT TEACHER FOR YOUNGER FOURS (FROGS)
Tiffany Lambert
Tiffany has been attending Central Baptist since 2013. She first started working for Central Preschool in 2017 and has served as a teacher in several age groups. She loves watching children grow and fall in love with Jesus.
She lives in Archer's lodge with her husband, Josh, has 3 children (Summer, Braxton, and Brantley), and a cat named Brittany.

Emily Langston
Emily has worked at the preschool since 2020, off and on around her college schedule. She is currently studying Middle School Education at Liberty University online. She lives with her mom, sister, and 2 dogs. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, babysitting, and hanging out with family and friends.

Avery Liebermann
Avery joined the Central Preschool staff in August of 2022. She grew up in Wendell, graduated East Wake High School, and attended Wake Technical College for Psychology as Avery has always felt a connection with children. Avery has previously worked with preschoolers for a year, and is the proud mother of two beautiful preschoolers of her own. She also loves being in the great outdoors.
ASSISTANT TEACHER FOR INFANTS (CATERPILLARS)
Kimber Limon
Kimber joined the CCA team in August 2023. She graduated from Barton College in 2015 with a Bachelors in Health Promotion. She is a member of Central along with her husband, Josh, and son Daniel. They welcomed a little girl into their family in December 2023.
Kimber’s favorite verse is Joshua 1:9, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be dismayed. For the Lord your God is with you ALWAYS!” In her free time, Kimber enjoys being with friends and family, going to the beach, listening to music, and singing along.

Stefanie Mills
Stefanie has her associate's degree in Early Childhood. She has been working in childcare for 8 years. She is married and has 2 kids, Ethan and Payton. During the first part of their marriage, they lived in Texas where her husband was stationed at Fort Hood in the army. They are members of Grace Lutheran Church in Raleigh. Stafanie teaches Sunday School and serves in all different areas of the church. Stefanie loves working at Central because she gets to teach the children about God and His Word. She also loves watching the children learn and grow and seeing their smiling faces as they come in the door.

ASSISTANT TEACHER FOR YOUNGER TWOS (CRICKETS)
Lampoo Orsini
Lampoo came to Central Preschool in March of 2022 and is very grateful for the opportunity to be here. She loves teaching arts and crafts and singing songs with the children. They also help her to give special attention to each child.
Lampoo attended Bible Study at Temple Baptist in Raleigh where she was encouraged to attend community college. Lampoo obtained her certification to teach Early Childhood Pre-school and taught at Temple Baptist Daycare for 7 years. She gained additional experience in the requirements for teaching daycare at another state-inspected school.
Lampoo and her husband Dominic met and fell in love while he was on R&R from working in Iraq and married after a 3-year courtship. They have been happily married for 9 years.

Courtney Parrish
Courtney Parrish joined the Central Preschool staff in December of 2022. She grew up in Archer's Lodge, NC, and graduated from Corinth Holders High School. She has worked in retail for 8 years and has recently shifted into a different career working with children. She has babysat since her teenage years and loves working with children and seeing them learn and grow.

Courtney has been married since 2016 to her best friend since kindergarten, Jacob and they have a dog named Mia. In her spare time, she loves being in the great outdoors, traveling with her husband, and going out and seeing the world. She is seeking a church at the moment but is attending Eastgate Church in Wilson.

Gina Pearce
Gina has been a part of CBC Preschool since April 2016. She has been teaching preschool since graduating from Meredith College in 2001. She has a BS in Psychology, and loves using her background to learn about others and engage with them. She loves shaping young minds!
Gina has been married since 2002 to her high school sweetheart, Jeffrey. They have a son, Joshua, and a daughter, Madison. She is an active member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church in Youngsville. She enjoys serving the Lord and teaching others about Him and looks forward to teaching and loving each child that comes her way!

Amanda Richardson
Amanda Richardson felt a call to return to teaching after working at a marketing firm for two years. She worked at Central during college and joined our staff again in fall 2022. She loves working with little ones and being a part of their time here at Central! She completed her degree in Communications from Liberty University in 2023. She has a dog named Gracie.

Stephanie Rockwell
Stephanie recently joined our team after moving from Whiteville NC to Wendell for her husband's job. She has several years of teaching experience from ages 2 to pre-K at her previous church preschool, along with the role of preschool director. After visiting Central Church, the Lord led her to CCA
She is married with one son who is away in law school. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and friends, cheering on the Tar Heels, hiking, reading, and weekend trips to the beach or mountains. Stephanie is a huge dog lover and has three dogs of her own, Sophie Ann, Dennis, and Harriet! She and her husband are loving Wendell and can’t wait to get involved in the community.

Andrea
Sainz-Navarro
Andrea joined the CCA Preschool team in May of 2023. She is a student at Wake Tech studying Early Childhood Education. She has worked in preschool for 6 years. She loves working with children. Her favorite Bible verse is, "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy." Ephesians 2:4.
She is married to Allen and has 6 children and 6 grandchildren. She loves exercise and runs 10 miles every day! She loves movies and traveling to Florida.

Kathy Snyder
As the mother of two, Kathy completely understands the many emotions of parents, whether their little ones have been at Central for some time or they are sending them off to school for the first time. She recalls how she felt when the time came to send her children off to school. She is experiencing a season of separation again as her own young people, Meghan and Ryan, have completed their college endeavors and now have both begun the next phase of their life journeys in Chicago.
The Lord has given Kathy a tender heart for preschool-age children and she knows her position at Central is a “Divine” appointment. She began working with preschool-age children in 1998 and through the years, has not only been in the classroom but has also been active in many aspects of children’s and adult ministries. She and her husband, Mark, live in Wendell and are members at Central. Their time together is not only spent learning to recognize our ABCs but also recognizing the need to have a relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Sylvia Sykes
Sylvia has been a floater at Central Preschool since May 2022. She has grown up in Central Bapt Church and attends with her family who are all active members. She currently serves as a floater for the Central Preschool Worship Care on Sunday mornings. She has also served in various other positions within the church.
Sylvia feels that God has blessed her with a gift to work with kids. She is pursuing a degree in elementary education. Sylvia enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her dog.

Kayla Williams
Kayla graduated from Southern Nash High School in 2019. She has an Associate's degree in Human Services from Nash Community College. She has worked in childcare for 3 years.
She lives in Louisburg with her parents and 2 brothers. She likes to read. She attends St. Stephen's Baptist Church.

ASSISTANT COOK
Rebecca Browning
Rebecca has worked at CCA off and on for 10 years. She has worked in this field for 21 years. She went to Liberty University and studied Early Childhood Education. She and her husband have 3 kids. She is a member at Central Church and has served as a volunteer in multiple ministries here. She loves to fish and hunt. And she loves her coffee! Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose."

Teresa Creech
Central Baptist Church holds a special place in Teresa's heart. As a young girl, she started attending Central and became a member as a teenager. She now actively serves in various ministries. She enjoys serving as our Lead Cook and has the opportunity to spend time in every classroom getting to know all the children. What a blessing to love these children and to be loved by them!

Tabitha Hinson
Tabitha grew up coming to Central Church with her family. She is now an active member of Tippett's Chapel FWB Church. She has substituted at another preschool prior to coming to CCA. She lives in Archers Lodge with her husband, Travis, her 3 kids, Beau, Lacey, and Sophia, and their dog Topor.

Director of Security
Brian Lane
Brian came to Central Church in 1994 and fell in love with a beautiful young lady (now wife Leigh Ann) that went to church here. They have two amazing kids MacKenzie(19) and Andrew(15). Brian is from Wendell and spent 27.5 years protecting and serving the great state of NC with the Highway Patrol and Knightdale Police Department. While on the Highway Patrol he was assigned to the Governor Security Detail for 14 years. He was also an instructor for this special detail. During his free time, Brian loves spending time with his family, building stuff, and playing golf.

Zach Strother
Zach possesses extensive experience in people management and safety despite his background primarily in the restaurant industry. With 20 years in hospitality, including 15 years as a General Manager, he excels in hiring, training, HR, and payroll. Notably, he spearheaded the launch of 8 restaurant locations, overseeing staff training and safety protocols. Zach is an expert at cultivating close bonds with regular guests and their families, demonstrating his commitment to service and community care. Zach is also a father of two who have both attended Central Christian Academy.
